Thomas Madigan
Thomas attended Western Illinois University and later Columbia College where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Thomas began his career at the Freeport Police Department where he has worked as a patrolman, Inspector in SLANT (State Line Area Narcotics Team, an Illinois State Police Drug Task Force), a Corporal on patrol, a Corporal in the Freeport Police Department's Street Crimes Unit, and as a Sergeant with the Freeport Police Department.
During Thomas' 11 years in law enforcement, he has had the opportunity to work a variety of cases including working full-time investigations. Thomas has received specialized training in the following fields: Reid's method of Interview and Interrogation, Advanced Interview and Interrogation, 80 hour Accident Investigation, Radar Speed measurement, handcuffing techinques, 32 hour Breath Alcohol Testing, Rapid Deployment, Advanced DUI enforcement, Drugs that Impair Driving, Criminal Code Review, Trouble shooting Search and Seizure, 80 hour basic Narcotics Investigator, Indoor Cannabis Grow Investigation, Effective Supervision for Law Enforcement, Investigation of Methamphetamine, Basic Background Investigation, Basic SWAT, and Field Training Manager.
Thomas has received awards in the areas of DUI enforcement and Drug Enforcement. Thomas has served in a variety of positions at the Freeport Police Department including Assistant Commander of the Auxiliary Police Unit, Field Training Program Coordinator, Squad Leader on the Emergency Response Team, and Squad Leader on Region 2 Mobile Field Force Team.
